Hejabāt Kheshkhash, 2025
Poppy, olive tree twigs, cotton, indigo blue. Different sizes.

Al-Daqq is a spiritual tattooing ritual through which tattoos are created for purposes such as protection and healing.
What kind of biography do materials acquire as they move through time and space under colonialism?
This series of
Hejabāt/amulets
explores the biography of materials within the framework of Indigenous spiritual medicine practices, and how they embody healing powers inherent in acts of resistance to colonialism.
As an extention to this work,
Hejabāt Gathering, 2025 and
Daqq in the Desert, 2025
was organised.
These experiments are part of my ongoing research project “Resistance is an Amulet” , which I am currently developing during my artistic residency at MMAG Foundation
