This talisman is currently in progress. It investigates how images operate as talismanic components within anti-colonial talismans, exploring how contemporary forces of evil can be represented within a relational system that historically functioned to identify, interpret, and guide communities through conditions beyond their control. Composed of indigo-dyed reclaimed fabric, Qur'anic verses, resistance songs, talismanic seals, protective materials, and images drawn from Arabic and Islamic mythology, folklore, and spiritual practices, the work extends the historical logic of talismanic image-making into a contemporary colonial context.
